Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Saturday blamed President Donald Trump for death threats against her, after the erstwhile allies had a public falling out.
Trump publicly denounced Greene on Friday after months of friction, leading to a back-and-forth of allegations and denouncements. On Saturday morning, Greene claimed her life was in danger under an avalanche of death threats — death threats she squarely blamed on the president.
“I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” Greene said in a post on X. “The man I supported and helped get elected.”

Greene then drew the conversation to her gender, claiming Trump, as a man, was putting in her particular danger as she was a woman. She then compared herself to Jeffrey Epstein‘s victims.
“Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type rhetoric being directed at me right now. This time by the President of the United States. As a woman I take threats from men seriously,” she said.
“I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel,” Greene added.
The Georgia Republican also condemned Trump’s “aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid),” calling it “completely shocking to everyone.”
Trump and Greene’s public fallout began on Friday, when the president openly denounced the Georgia Republican and withdrew his endorsement of her. Greene fired back later that day, accusing Trump of going back on his principles and implying that he was fighting hard to prevent the release of documents related to Epstein. The fight continued on Saturday morning, with Trump debuting the new nicknames “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene” and “Marjorie Taylor Brown,” explaining the latter as “Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!”

The president claims that Greene only began criticizing him in recent months because he didn’t support her run for governor, while Greene claims the fallout is over her support for the release of documents related to Epstein.
The discord within the Republican Party over the case of Epstein has been unique in Trump’s second term, stirring up a rare rebellion in a caucus usually undyingly loyal to Trump. Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) have been the most prominent Republicans to go against the president, leading to the current feud. Trump has pledged to heavily support primary candidates against both.
