Dec. 6 is the real anniversary of the end of slavery, not ‘Juneteenth’

Given the significance that Democrats and other race agitators have placed on slavery, it is surprising that hardly anyone can identify the correct date when the institution ended in the United States.
Many mistakenly cite “Juneteenth,” on June 19, 1865, as slavery’s official end, succumbing to the incorrect narrative reinforced by leftists in recent years. Despite claims to the contrary, slavery still existed after this date. It was not until the ratification of the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865, that slavery ended in the United States. Yet many of those who emphasized the importance of the “Juneteenth” holiday aren’t aware of the significance of Dec. 6.

Slavery’s actual end is not celebrated in any capacity due to left-wing historical revisionism.
Through the use of Democratic propaganda, pop culture references, postings on social media, and general ignorance of history, most people have no idea about the significance of Dec. 6. Instead, they associate “Juneteenth” with the end of slavery. For all the talk about the damages of slavery, all the discussions about the need for reparations, and all the rhetoric surrounding the much-needed racial reckoning in the nation after George Floyd’s death, the actual date on which “America’s original sin” ended exists in obscurity.
Dec. 6 lives in such cultural anonymity that some of the country’s most prominent racial agitators and black American ethnic centrists have seemingly failed to acknowledge the significance and importance of this date with any social media declaration — the way most have done for holidays such as “Juneteenth.” This includes the creator of the 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones, race hustler, agitator, left-wing activist; “father” of the anti-racist movement Ibram X. Kendi; other race hustlers such Rev. Al Sharpton and attorney Benjamin Crump, former President Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris, and President Joe Biden, among many others. This list also includes the official social media account of Black Lives Matter.
Logic would dictate that if the end of slavery were as crucial to the culture as the Left would have you think, they would acknowledge the magnitude of today’s anniversary — because it is an important date that should be commemorated. However, the Left has created a culture in which buzzwords and fake history are more important than real history, and that is why hardly anyone in the country acknowledges or can even recognize the importance of today’s date in our nation’s history.
From public grievances, claims of racism, toppling statues, and overzealous proclamations of systemic racism and white supremacy, liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left have made a big deal of the institution of slavery that ended in 1865. Many of them act like racial bigotry today is worse than it was then. They have made racism, discrimination, and slavery a staple of the perpetual aggrieved culture that is a core tenet of democratic politics and left-wing political pedagogy in 2023.

They have justified implementing Critical Race Theory in schools to discuss slavery to poison and brainwash hundreds of thousands of children. Yet, none of these people seemed to care about acknowledging Dec. 6, one of the most critical dates in the country’s history. Why? Because all of their outrage, their acts of defiance, and their claims of suffering are nothing more than performative politics and fake outrage solely done to appease a left-wing mob.
They never cared about any of it; they only cared about the influence, power, prestige, and — most importantly — wealth they could amass from pretending to care.
