Tidal wave of pro-Hamas falsehood crashes against the facts

Few news stories expose the Left’s lies to ridicule and correction as quickly and completely as the IsraelGaza war has. Falsehoods from terrorists and their supporters are debunked almost daily. Viral videos display the facts confounding all pretense, and underscore what the French aptly call “actualité” — news that actually happens rather than being fabricated to propagandize fools or confirm biases.

This week, closed-circuit video from Gaza’s Shifa Hospital, taped during Hamas’s mass murder and kidnapping of Jews on Oct. 7, shows terrorists bundling hostages roughly through a hospital corridor while medical staff look on as though the sight of armed killers in this refuge for the sick was not an unusual sight. A British doctor who worked there told France 24 he was told he’d be shot if he entered certain restricted areas of the hospital, and the warning was delivered in the same hushed undertones with which staff always talked about Hamas.

A WELCOME RIGHT TURN IN ARGENTINA

It’s long been known that Shifa is a terrorist hub despite constant Hamas denials and left-wing media disingenuousness. But Israel Defense Forces released footage of Hamas tunnels under it and displayed caches of weapons found there, including suicide vests, to nail down the proof. The BBC, too, suspending at least briefly its contemptible pro-Palestinian bias, brilliantly analyzed video confirming Israeli data about tunnels, weapons, hostages, and pretty much everything else Hamas and its acolytes spend their energy denying.

Another spectacular example of the Left’s falsehoods being debunked came when a rocket hit a Christian hospital compound in Gaza early in the war. Hamas accused the IDF of deliberately slaughtering 500 innocents. Rage, both of the staged and the spontaneous varieties, erupted across the Middle East and in the U.S. and wider West as the narrative-first media offered this unchecked antisemitic propaganda as fitting a pattern of Israeli genocide against Palestinians.

But the entirely different truth came out quickly. Video showed the missile arcing up into the sky from a launch site inside Gaza, misfiring, dropping through the darkness toward the hospital, and exploding. It was not a precision strike by Israel but an incompetent one by Islamic Jihad terrorists (who were committing a war crime). They were even caught on audio saying of the missile, “it was one of ours.” Plus, it didn’t hit the hospital but, rather, a nearby parking lot, didn’t kill 500 but about 50, and wasn’t civilized Israel attempting genocide but Islamic Jihad pursuing its explicit commitment to slaughter Jews. Apart from that, guys, your story was great.

Before and after this incident, the Left was busily denying that its Hamas heroes raped women and children, incinerated them, or committed all the other abominable crimes that the terrorists themselves had taken the trouble to video and post to the internet. Even Hamas debunks the lies of its own supporters.

Some of the lies are less hideous. Instead, they’re laughable. Take a Torah reading intoned by a fringe rabbi at an anti-Israel meeting this week attended by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a congressional Jew hater who, despite being censured by the House, continues to lie about the Christian hospital and intone the genocidal aspiration, “from the river to the sea.” At the reading, from the Book of Genesis, the rabbi drops her voice to a stifled mutter when she arrives at God’s words “to you and to your descendants will I give all these lands [Israel].” Like the killers for whom she provides cover, she resorts to concealment and deception to do propaganda work, but it is caught on video for all the civilized world to mock.

The reading was not performed by Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg, who, aside from being a useful idiot in the antisemite camp, might also be an understudy for Helena Bonham Carter playing the Red Queen. Rosenberg, seemingly a transgender person with a female name and scruffy beard, recently attended an awkward meeting with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), another member of Capitol Hill’s bigot squad.

The rabbi would probably be thrown from a rooftop if discovered in Gaza by Hamas terrorists whom Omar supports. The awkward photos from the meeting in Omar’s congressional office reflect awareness of this by both participants. The meeting’s core feature is falsehood. The rabbi embodies falsehood about the difference between men and women, and Omar is false in pretending that the cause for which she produces an endless stream of propaganda has any real respect for this psychologically troubled but helpful anti-Zionist.

One could go on, for there is an abundance of evidence of pro-Hamas, anti-Israeli lying. It is not trickling out but arriving in wave after oceanic wave. Recognition that one side tells the truth and the other is never anything but dishonest is perhaps a silver lining to the great thundercloud of war now darkening global stability. Maybe, just maybe, we have reached an inflection point at which sensible ordinary people will believe their lying eyes rather than accept the rubbish being thrust at them by evil actors.
