Rand Paul’s criticism of Anthony Fauci was right all along

In November 2022, on NBC’s Meet the Press, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he had a completely open mind regarding the COVID lab leak theory. However, emails released this week by Congress show that Fauci was not exactly being honest. It’s the latest revelation to tarnish the reputation of the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director.

Furthermore, it vindicates Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who repeatedly warned about Fauci’s lack of trustworthiness.

RAND PAUL WANTS TO MAKE CONGRESS EFFICIENT AGAIN

“I have a completely open mind about that, despite people saying that I don’t,” Fauci said on NBC’s Meet the Press in November 2022. But we now know that as far back as Feb. 2020, Fauci didn’t have an open mind. He did everything possible to suppress discussion of the possibility that COVID had been caused by a lab leak. He told the public one thing, to appear open-minded and objective, but in private, he tried to cover up even the possibility of such a revelation by presenting the opposite view in a false light as if it were backed by a consensus.

Fauci commissioned a study explicitly in order to debunk the COVID lab leak theory, according to evidence released this week by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. He had his own agenda and used his power to advance it. It was this kind of deceit by Fauci that Sen. Paul tried to warn the country about and included a variety of topics. From gain-of-function research to concerns over the virus’s origins, Paul cautioned that Fauci wasn’t being honest.

During an interview this week, Paul elaborated on more of the evidence that further discredited Fauci.

“In late January 2020, there’s a flurry of emails that go on all night long until three in the morning the next day,” Paul said. “There’s a video conference, and eight good friends of Fauci — scientists, famous virologists — came together and said, ‘Dr. Fauci, we think this leaked from the lab. The virus, the sequence of the RNA is suspicious. We think it came from the lab.’ At the end of the phone call, they all became convinced otherwise, and they agreed to write an article saying something the opposite of what they were saying in private.”

Paul’s synopsis starkly contrasts with what Fauci told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week in October 2021 about his knowledge of the virus. While discussing his work studying the virus’s origins with the director of the NIH, Dr. Francis Collins, Fauci maintained he was always honest and didn’t mislead anyone.

“I obviously totally disagree with Sen. Paul,” Fauci said then. “He’s absolutely incorrect. Neither I nor Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the NIH, lied or misled about what we’ve done.”

But this was not true.

During the pandemic, whenever Paul criticized Fauci, he was cast by the Left and the corporate media as some kind of kook. He was mocked, demonized, and even censored by Big Tech, all for presenting facts that went against the Democratic narrative at the time. As more and more evidence started to reach the public, it became clear that Paul was correct all along; his concerns about Fauci were proven to be valid.

Earlier, Paul had been proven right about the efficacy of masks (zero) and vaccines (less than people claimed) in preventing the transmission of COVID — these were both much lower than what the “experts” claimed. Next, Paul was shown to be right about natural immunity after infection being superior to getting the vaccine. Then there was last week’s admission by the U.S. Energy Department and the FBI that COVID most likely originated from a lab in Wuhan, China. And now, there are the newly released emails that show Paul was right to be skeptical about trusting Dr. Fauci.

The whole ordeal should serve as a valuable lesson as to why Democrats must not control the regulation of information. They will deem anything they disagree with as “misinformation,” even if it is a fact.

Democrats and their authoritative validation of what they were telling the public to be true were ultimately proven to be inept and wrong. From now on, everyone should be skeptical of what the Left claims are absolute truths. Paul showed just how dangerous and incompetent they actually are.
