Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) said Devon Archer testified that Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone around business associates on a number of occasions but said there was no business talk when he was around.
After the two hours of Republican questioning ended, Goldman claimed that Archer testified that Hunter Biden would call President Joe Biden daily and speak with him. On approximately 20 occasions over a 10-year period, the younger Biden allegedly put his father on speakerphone around business associates or friends he happened to be with.

Goldman claimed that Archer testified the then-vice president and Hunter Biden’s business associates would only engage in “casual conversation, niceties, the weather, what’s going on” and that there “wasn’t a single conversation” about any of Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
“[Hunter Biden] would often put his father, occasionally would put his father on to say hello to whomever he happened to be caught at dinner with,” Goldman told reporters. “And Mr. Archer clarified that it was sometimes people they were trying to do business with, and it was sometimes friends or other social engagements.”
Joe Biden and the White House have claimed in the past that he never discussed any business dealings with his son.
Hunter Biden and Archer worked together for a number of years, with both joining the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma in 2014. In addition, Archer and Hunter Biden also worked alongside each other at the Rosemont Seneca Partners investment firm.
Archer was convicted in connection to a fraudulent bond scheme involving a Native American tribe in 2018 and was sentenced to over a year in prison in 2022.
Goldman also said Archer testified that Burisma executives weren’t worried about Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin because they had Hunter Biden on their board, which was also mentioned in the FBI-generated FD-1023, in which Mykola Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma, alleged that he paid $5 million to both Hunter Biden and his father to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire Shokin. These allegations are unverified.

“I think it is safe to say that after yet another two hours, there still is no connection of any of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with President Biden,” Goldman said.
Archer’s testimony is continuing for another two hours under Democratic questioning.
