The first week after Thanksgiving was, fittingly, dominated by a dinner. Specifically, former President Donald Trump’s dinner at Mar-a-Lago with the rapper Kanye West and white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

Republicans and Democrats alike condemned the dinner and Trump’s poor judgment. West, who now goes by the name Ye, poured kerosene onto the controversy with an unhinged interview with InfoWars in which he reiterated several heinous antisemitic views.

President Joe Biden, meanwhile, attempted to navigate a rail strike that threatened to bring even more harm to the economy.

These are the quotes of the week.

“So I — look, let’s just call Nick Fuentes for who he is: He’s an antisemite, he’s repulsive, his views are disgusting, and no one of any substance should give him any forum. It’s frankly beneath President Trump to meet with him.”

Len Khodorkovsky, Trump-era official, on former president Donald Trump’s meeting with Nick Fuentes.

“He certainly needs better judgment in who he dines with.”

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) on Trump’s dinner date.

“I don’t think anybody should be spending any time with Nick Fuentes. He has no place in this Republican Party. … I condemn his ideology.”

House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy on Trump’s dinner.

“Right now as it is, not right now, not with their leadership, not with Greg there and his animosity towards the tour itself, I don’t see it happening. As Rory said and I said it as well, Greg’s got to leave, and then we can eventually, hopefully, have a stay between the two lawsuits and figure something out. But why would you change anything if you have a lawsuit against you? They sued us first.”

Tiger Woods calls on Greg Norman to step down from his role in LIV Golf should there be any thawing of the relationship with the PGA.

“President Biden and his all Democratic Party government took power, talking a big game about rebuilding the middle class. Instead, they promptly shut out, eroding away the ground from right underneath middle-class families’ feet.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) excoriates the Biden administration’s first two years in office.

“I asked for Congress, whether they’d be willing to come in and talk about what we’re going to do between now and Christmas in terms of legislation. There’s a lot to do in resolving the rail strike. Congress has to act to prevent it. It’s not an easy call, but I think we have to do it — the economy’s at risk.”

President Joe Biden pushes both parties to move to avert a rail strike.

“The Chinese Communist Party’s ‘zero COVID’ policy is draconian, unscientific, and represents a gross violation of individual rights. The Chinese people are right to protest the maniacal impulse to exercise total control of the population which is the hallmark of the CCP regime.”

“If the Biden White House can prioritize purchasing 200 Maine lobsters for a fancy dinner, [Biden] should also take the time to meet with the Maine lobstermen his administration is currently regulating out of business.”

Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) criticizes Biden for plans to serve 200 Maine lobsters at the state dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron while lobstermen’s hands are tied by regulation.

“They did good things, too. We’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all the time.”

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, defends the Nazis and Hitler in an unhinged InfoWars appearance.

“President Macron and I have had a chance to spend some time together. We went to private dinner last night with our wives, and we just came to tell you that and we’re leaving.”

Biden’s joke fails to land during press conference with Macron.

“Most people in this country have no clue who Nick Fuentes is, and if they heard his statements, they would want nothing to do with him.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) denounces white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

“Madam speaker, the American people have spoken. They have fired you and have chosen to end the Democrats’ one-party rule throughout our government.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) says goodbye to Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in her own way.
