President Donald Trump heralded Chinese President Xi Jinping‘s second state visit to the U.S. as a success, with one day remaining in their three-day summit.
“Very productive meeting with President Xi for both the U.S.A. and China,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday. “Tremendous things will be happening. Like almost everyone else, he seemed to like calling the poorly and inaccurately named Artificial Intelligence to a far more accurate and important name, SUPER INTELLIGENCE. That would be ‘SUPER!’ Everyone last night agreed, also.”
Trump had earlier reiterated his opposition to a coordinated international slowdown in frontier artificial intelligence model development, as AI developers express concerns about the technology’s safety.
“A big day with President Xi of China,” he wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. “Super Intelligence (SI) will be a big topic of discussion, but I want to leave it exactly where it is. That is China’s position also. Our guardrail is the DOJ!”
Xi and the U.S.-China relationship were celebrated Thursday night with a state dinner in the White House’s East Room, capping a day of meetings in the Oval Office, including a break to see Marine One and the new helipad on the South Lawn, after Trump personally welcomed China’s first couple at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday night.
“I met President Xi at the plane (Airport!) yesterday and he looks strong, vibrant, and fit – Better than ever,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. “Madam Xi, of course, BEAUTIFUL!”
Friday’s schedule for the two world leaders includes a personal tea with their wives before a visit to the National Archives to see the pillars of the U.S.’s democracy: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

“President Xi and Madam Peng, Melania and I want to thank you for making your journey, and it is a long journey to America during our 250th year,” Trump said during his toast at the state dinner. “I’d like to raise a glass and propose a toast to President Xi, Madam Peng, and the long relationship between China and America that has bridged thousands of miles and spanned hundreds of years. And may all of our people know a future of harmony, peace, and success.”
