Prince Harry and his family visited King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Friday at one of the royal homes in Gloucestershire, England, marking the first interaction between the king and his younger son in nearly four years.
Harry, Meghan, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, met with King Charles and Camilla at Highgrove House, a family residence west of London. The meeting is the first time the monarchs have seen the Sussexes and their children since Sept. 2022.
The family reunion follows a week of controversy for Harry, as he was recently denied taxpayer-funded police protection by British authorities. Harry and Meghan were in the United Kingdom for a charity event, having arrived on Monday.
The BBC previously reported that the duke was reconsidering bringing his wife and children following the denial of his security detail request. Harry had appealed a decision from British authorities to remove his security protection but ultimately lost in court following a lengthy legal battle. The court loss happened in May 2025, and at the time, Harry said his father was no longer speaking to him because of the legal dispute.
Before visiting with his father, Harry had been participating in an event related to the Invictus Games, a sporting event for injured veterans founded by Harry, who served in the British Armed Forces and completed two front-line combat tours in Afghanistan.
Since abandoning his royal title in 2020 and moving to America, Harry and his wife, Meghan, have been paying for private security in California.

Harry has made scattered visits to the U.K. to visit his family, but Archie and Lilibet have not seen King Charles and Camilla since June 2022, when the family joined for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Harry and Meghan saw the monarchs in Sept. 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
The palace only confirmed the meeting on Friday and noted it was a private family gathering with no photos or details to be released to the public.
