Talk show host Bill Maher suggested he’d rather quit his HBO show Real Time With Bill Maher than cover more news surrounding President-elect Donald Trump.
Maher admitted to actress Jane Fonda on his Club Random podcast Sunday that he felt like “s***ing my pants” ahead of Trump taking office in January.
“I mean, I may quit because I don’t want to do another,” Maher said. “I did Trump. I did — I did all the Trump stuff before anybody.”
Not even Maher could deny that Trump will dominate the news cycle “like he always does” once he’s inaugurated. Fonda attempted to cheer the talk show host up.
“I’m bored with it,” Maher said.
“So find a new thing to do and not — not do Trump,” Fonda said. “Do something else.”
“The show is the politics,” Maher said.

Maher could make a shift to purely podcasting, as many comedians have done before him. Earlier this year, Maher launched a podcast network in collaboration with Hollywood producers Chris Case and Chuck LaBella. The network hosts Club Random and The Sage Steele Show.
However, it is unlikely that his HBO show will end soon, as it was renewed in March for two seasons that will last through 2026.
