Trump no longer ‘dependent’ on advice for Cabinet: Kaylee McGhee White

.

Washington Examiner’s Restoring America editor Kaylee McGhee White noted that President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet is shaping up to be “a completely different ball game” from his first term.

Ever since Trump swept the Nov. 5 election, he began announcing who he is choosing to be a part of his Cabinet. Trump named Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth as his Defense Secretary, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) as his Homeland Security Secretary, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) as his national security adviser, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as his U.N. ambassador, and former Gov. Mike Huckabee to be his ambassador to Israel among others on the horizon. McGhee White said she was, so far, impressed by the lineup while on Fox News at Night Tuesday.

“I’ve gotta say I’ve been very impressed with all of Trump’s picks so far, perhaps with the exception of Kristi Noem. I’m a little bit worried for the dogs here in Washington, D.C.,” McGhee White joked, referring to Noem’s account of euthanizing her own dog. “But besides that, I’m very impressed with everyone else. It shows a level of seriousness and confidence on Trump’s part that he understands the mandate that he’s been given by the American public. He recognizes he needs to surround himself with people who want to implement his agenda.”

Trump was notably new to the world of politics during his first term, having never served in any political office before. The first few days of his rise to the Oval Office included many people swarming him to recommend who he should appoint to his Cabinet.

“That is a very big difference in the first administration when he was very dependent on other people —on their advice on who to pick. He didn’t know it was going on,” McGhee White said. “This is going to be a completely different ball game and I’m looking forward to it.”

Already, Trump’s selections made history in that he selected Susie Wiles as the first female to be the White House chief of staff.
