President-elect Donald Trump‘s decisive 2024 victory was capped off with a clean sweep of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, the so-called blue wall Vice President Kamala Harris banked on buttressing her hopes of winning the presidency.
Not only did Trump complete the sweep this cycle, but he posted his highest vote totals across three presidential campaigns in all three states: 49.7%, 50.5%, and 49.7% support in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, respectively.

The president-elect’s margins in the three states improved by more than 2 points each compared to his 2016 totals. In 2020, President Joe Biden carried the three states, which, despite talks of electoral breaks, have all swung for the same presidential candidate in every election since 1992.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was heartily criticized for skipping campaigning in Wisconsin entirely in 2016. But Harris chose to spend the bulk of her final weeks campaigning in the trio of states, including deciding to hold two closeout rallies in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia on Monday.
“After four years under Kamala Harris, Keystone State voters are eager for President Trump to fix what Kamala Harris broke,” Trump’s Pennsylvania campaign spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement. “Starting on Day 1, President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance will help to ease costs, secure the border — and Make America Great Again.”
Trump spoke to both Harris and Biden on Wednesday, according to the president-elect’s campaign and the Biden White House.

“President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone earlier today where she congratulated him on his historic victory,” Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung confirmed. “President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country.”
Harris and Biden are slated to deliver public remarks on the race on Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday, respectively.
