Trump denies ‘loser’ Harris’s accusation he’s exhausted: ‘I’m exhilarated’

Former President Donald Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being a “loser” after she claimed he was “too exhausted” to campaign

Speaking to the press in Michigan on Friday afternoon, Trump blasted the vice president’s recent comments that he has resorted to “ducking debates and canceling interviews” because he doesn’t have the strength to keep up with the rigors of the grueling presidential campaign schedule.

“What event did I cancel? I haven’t canceled. She doesn’t go to any events. She’s a loser. She didn’t even show up for the Catholics last night at the hotel. It was insulting,” the former president said, calling Harris’s claims mere “soundbites.”

His criticism came after Harris declined to speak at the 79th annual Al Smith charity dinner in New York Thursday evening, instead campaigning in Wisconsin. Her move broke with decades of political tradition, making her the first presidential nominee not to attend the Catholic event in 40 years.

“Let me tell you something: She should have been last night with the Catholics,” Trump said. “Tell me when you’ve seen me take even a little bit of a rest. Not only am I not, I’m not even tired. I’m really exhilarated.”

Trump proceeded to defend himself from the vice president’s claims that he is on the decline as he cited his busy schedule Friday.

“So today, I was at Fox & Friends at seven in the morning. I then went to two different other appearances. I then made about 15 phone calls. I’ve gone 48 days now without a rest, and I’ve got that loser who doesn’t have the energy of a rabbit,” he said.

Trump’s words marked his first response to Harris’s remarks to a crowd in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Friday.

“He has no plan for how he would address the needs of the American people, and he is, as we have seen, only focused on himself, and now he is ducking debates and canceling interviews,” she said.

“And check this out. His own campaign team recently said it is because of exhaustion. Well, if you are exhausted on the campaign trail, it raises real questions about whether you are fit for the toughest job in the world,” she continued.

Before Trump’s comments, his campaign team denied the allegations reportedly made by a Trump adviser, and they threw their weight behind the former president’s stamina and vigor.
