Trump’s podcast interview garners more views than Harris podcast

.

Vice President Kamala Harris made a big swing appearing on a podcast that has yet to pay off in views when compared to Donald Trump‘s same strategy.

There is less than a month left until the election, and Harris is tied with Trump in polls across battleground states such as Pennsylvania and North Carolina. As a result, both candidates are ramping up efforts to branch out their media opportunities to introduce themselves to wider audiences.

Harris appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast as the show’s first politician guest. The episode aired on Sunday. This was similar to Trump’s appearance on comedian Theo Von’s podcast This Past Weekend as the first former president or politician for that show.

Most Call Her Daddy episodes have crude sexual titles that accompany the names of their guests. When it came to Harris’s episode, however, it was simply titled with her name and office.

While both episodes aired in their entirety on Spotify, the platform does not publish the number of listeners on its app. However, on YouTube, Call Her Daddy posted a clip of Harris discussing her stance on abortion. That clip had over 108,000 views the next day. Meanwhile, Von posted Trump’s entire interview to the reception of over 13.7 million views.

Von dominates in YouTube subscribers, with more than 3 million over Call Her Daddy’s 977,000 subscribers. Nevertheless, Spotify ranks Call Her Daddy in the No. 5 spot of all podcasts, with This Past Weekend ranked 14th overall.

This comes as Harris has sought to increase her media interviews after her debate against Trump. The month after she announced her candidacy, she did not give any interviews, which her opponents criticized. Harris has only given one interview to a journalist, which will soon be two when her interview with CBS News’s David Whittaker of 60 Minutes airs in its entirety Monday evening. An interview with radio personality Howard Stern will then air on Tuesday.
