Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) brushed off former President Donald Trump’s fiery screed against him while adhering to his playbook and avoiding a slugfest with his potential 2024 foe.

On Tuesday, Trump flashed an uncorroborated photo that purported to show DeSantis drinking with students during a teaching gig he had in his early 20s. Trump insinuated he was grooming high school girls in a series of fiery Truth Social posts. But, DeSantis again refused to take the bate.

TRUMP ATTACKS DESANTIS IN SERIES OF SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

“I’d just say this: I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against Joe Biden,” DeSantis told reporters Wednesday to applause from onlookers.

“I don’t spend my time trying to smear other Republicans,” He said.

DeSantis also knocked the media for fomenting controversy. The photo Trump shared had the caption “Here is Ron DeSanctimonious grooming high school girls with alcohol as a teacher.”

“That’s not Ron, is it,” Trump chided. “He would never do such a thing.”

Trump has occasionally gone after DeSantis since launching his 2024 presidential campaign in November.

DeSantis has consistently polled as Trump’s top potential rival but has refrained from taking shots at Trump, who is notorious for unleashing brutally incendiary diatribes against those who threaten him politically.

So far, every time Trump has targeted DeSantis, the Florida governor has sidestepped the onslaught and taken subtle digs. Last year, for example, DeSantis urged voters to “check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night” after Trump berated him as an “average REPUBLICAN” following the GOP midterm drubbing.

During his invective, Trump also torched DeSantis for voting against an immigration bill he claimed would help fund a border wall that failed in the House 301-121 in 2018.

“Wow, if I knew that I wouldn’t have Endorsed him (and he would have had to quit the race, down 35 points!),” Trump said in a post.

Trump’s political wrath against DeSantis came before the State of the Union address — something Trump provided play-by-play commentary on while DeSantis largely shunned the feted event.
