Adult film actress Stormy Daniels chastised former President Donald Trump for appearing to admit his former fixer may have arranged for hush money payments against her.

This comes as the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has reportedly begun unfurling evidence before a grand jury pertaining to an alleged payment made to Daniels in exchange for her signing a nondisclosure agreement during the 2016 election cycle. The agreement pertained to an affair she allegedly had with Trump.

“Thanks for just admitting that I was telling the truth about EVERYTHING. Guess I’ll take my ‘horse face’ back to bed now, Mr. former ‘president’. Btw, that’s the correct way to use quotation marks,” Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, tweeted. Trump has long disparaged her by calling her “horse face.”

Daniels included a screenshot of a Trump post on his Truth Social account Tuesday. In it, he ripped into Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg amid reports that his investigation revolving around the alleged hush money payments is advancing.

“With respect to the ‘Stormy’ nonsense, it is VERY OLD & happened a long time ago, long past the very publicly known & accepted deadline of the Statute of Limitations. I placed full Reliance on the JUDGEMENT & ADVICE OF COUNCIL, who I had every reason to believe had a license to practice law, was competent, & was able to appropriately provide solid legal services,” Trump wrote in the post.

Trump’s former fixer and lawyer Michael Cohen allegedly paid Daniels $130,000 to sign the nondisclosure agreement. Cohen has since entered a guilty plea with prosecutors over the alleged payment and turned on Trump publicly. He also confirmed publicly that he met with Bragg’s office recently.

At issue is whether the payment amounted to a campaign contribution and exceeded the federal limit. The hush money line of inquiry is believed to have been the impetus for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office investigation that began under Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr.

However, prosecutors have long been believed to be honing in on Trump’s business empire. Recent reports have indicated that the inquiry has returned to its roots by reviving its original focus on the alleged payments to Daniels. Separately, Bragg’s office is also examining potential insurance fraud by the Trump Organization, sources told the Wall Street Journal.

Earlier this month, Trump’s business empire was hit with the maximum fine for a tax fraud scheme in a case prosecuted by Bragg’s office. The former president was not directly implicated in that case. A disgruntled former prosecutor on Bragg’s team, Mark Pomerantz, is set to publish a book next month outlining his criticisms of the inquiry for not being aggressive enough against Trump.
