Police in the small town of Cohasset, Massachusetts, are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Ana Walshe after she was reported missing on Jan. 4 and hasn’t been seen since.

Officials have shifted their focus from a missing persons case to a possible murder investigation. Police arrested her husband, Brian Walshe, on Sunday, and he is being charged with misleading police after authorities discovered he made “untruthful” statements that could not be corroborated with video surveillance footage.

Investigators have obtained evidence from both the couple’s home and Brian Walshe’s parents’ home that concluded her disappearance is “suspicious” and indicated she might have been murdered.

Here’s a breakdown of what we know so far about the evidence police have gathered:

Brian Walshe seen buying cleaning supplies at Home Depot

In the days immediately following Ana Walshe’s disappearance, Brian Walshe was seen on surveillance footage going to Home Depot wearing a surgical mask and gloves.

During that trip, Brian Walshe spent $450 on cleaning supplies such as mops, a bucket, and a tarp, according to officials. He also paid for the items in cash.

Brian Walshe searched online how to dispose of body

Investigators changed their focus from a missing persons case to a murder investigation after it was discovered that Brian Walshe had searched “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body” and other information on dismemberment, according to his internet records obtained by police.

Officials were later seen searching through trash at a transfer station in Peabody for any human remains, according to CNN. Trash from Cohasset was brought to the station early last week by sanitation crews, officials said.

Meanwhile, investigators also put up crime scene tape around Brian Walshe’s mother’s house in Swampscott after he told police he visited there on Jan. 1 — the same day he said he last saw his wife before she disappeared.

Police find bloody knife in couple’s home

Shortly after uncovering Brian Walshe’s internet history regarding body dismemberment and disposal, police executed a search warrant on the couple’s home on Sunday.

During that search, police found blood and a damaged knife in the couple’s basement, according to officials.

Hacksaw, hatchet, and rug found at Peabody transfer station

While conducting their search at the Peabody station, investigators also found a hacksaw, a hatchet, a rug, and cleaning supplies inside the trash compactor that have been taken for evidence testing, according to the Daily Mail.

“Search activity conducted north of Boston yesterday resulted in a number of items being collected which will now be subject to processing and testing to determine if they are of evidentiary value to this investigation,” the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. “The processing of the home may be completed as soon as today or tomorrow. There is no anticipated change or adjustment of the charges in place in this matter at this time.”
