As Arizona voters face problems at the polls, Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake slammed the issues at voting locations as an “embarrassment.”

“I don’t like the embarrassment of every election having problems. I hope you don’t either,” she told reporters at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

“Within minutes of the polls opening up, I started getting people calling, voters in tears, calling my personal number, saying ‘what’s going on? The tabulators aren’t working. They told me to put my my ballot into a box and they would drive it downtown to county,'” Lake said. “This is not normal stuff. We don’t have to have elections run this way.”

Maricopa County, Arizona reported Tuesday morning that 20% of polling locations within the county were having vote tabulator issues.

Footage posted on social media Tuesday shows a poll worker telling voters in the county that the machines are misreading ballots or nonfunctional.

“They got to fix this problem. This is incompetency,” she added. “I hope it’s not malice.”

Lake urged voters to stay in line and vote, no matter what.

In response to a question about a possible 2024 presidential run by former President Donald Trump, Lake said “My reaction would be elation.”

“I would be so thrilled the President Trump runs. And I would absolutely absolutely wholeheartedly support him. We need President Trump back in office to fix what Joe Biden has screwed up,” she explained.

After a reporter asked about her ambitions beyond Arizona, and if she would serve an entire term, Lake responded “I am going to not only be the governor of Arizona for four years, I’m going to do two terms.”
