NFL fans are mourning this week after former Jacksonville Jaguars player Uche Nwaneri died Friday.

Nwaneri, 38, was found unresponsive by his wife at her Indiana home, according to a report.

She called emergency officials around 1 a.m. and said Nwaneri had collapsed in her bedroom.

A preliminary autopsy report conducted Monday revealed the former linebacker died due to an “enlarged heart with acute heart failure,” the report noted, and an official cause will be reported once toxicology reports are made available.

No foul play is suspected at this time, Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello said.

Nwaneri “forged a strong bond with the Jags fans that’s remained to this day,” said Tony Khan, son of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan. “On behalf of the Jaguars organization and my family, our thoughts are with Uche’s family and friends at this terrible time.”

Nwaneri, a Purdue University player, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 draft by Jacksonville, where he had 92 starts until he was released from the organization in 2013, according to the report.

Following a stint as a free agent, he briefly signed with the Dallas Cowboys.

There he talked about sports, Star Wars, and video games, according to the report.
