Biden’s border policies create multi-species threat as fentanyl crisis is now harming puppies

A porous border has led to fentanyl being smuggled illegally into the country and, in turn, harming tens of thousands of Americans each year.
The Washington Examiner’s Anna Giaritelli reported earlier this week that law enforcement officials with the United States Customs and Border Protection seized “more than 6 billion potentially lethal doses of fentanyl” at the border over the past year — enough to “kill all 330 million Americans” 18 times over. But now, a recent report from Seattle found that the fentanyl crisis is now hurting puppies.

Emma Green’s dog licked a blue pill it found on the steps outside her Seattle apartment. Within minutes, Dunkin, a three-month-old miniature schnauzer, was unable to function, going limp in her arms and having difficulty breathing. Emma and Dunkin were on their way to puppy training when the traumatic experience occurred.
“We saw a blue pill with markings that were indicative of a fentanyl pill,” Green told KING-TV, an NBC affiliate in Seattle. “Within two minutes, he is limp in my arms; he is whimpering and panting. I thought we were going to lose him.”
Fortunately, because Green witnessed her dog licking the pill and identified it as fentanyl, she was able to take her dog to a vet and prevent a tragedy, KING-TV reported. Green’s quick thinking saved Dunkin’s life.
“We were just lucky we were able to identify what it was and that Dunkin didn’t swallow the whole pill because if he had, he likely would have died,” said Green. “I think it’s really unfortunate that we have to be on high alert when we’re doing something as simple as taking our dog for a walk.”
While the origins of the pill Dunkin licked are unknown, a logical assumption would be that the drug found its way into the country because of the quagmire at the border.
President Joe Biden has made this country less safe from the very first day he took office with his ill-conceived and disastrous border policies. A veteran of over half a century in government prioritized radical and dangerous left-wing border security policies over the safety of Americans.

All of this could have been prevented.
Former President Donald Trump’s border security policies were vastly superior to those of the 46th president. Yet, Biden reversed nearly everything Trump did. Whether it’s dogs unknowingly ingesting harmful poison during casual strolls or enough fentanyl being seized at the border to cause a narcotic Armageddon in the country, President Biden has the distinction of being the only president whose incompetence created a multi-species hazard — endangering the lives of man and man’s best friend.
