Biden wants to reclassify marijuana, a drug linked to ‘heart failure and heart attacks’

While on the campaign trail, President Joe Biden provided a vision of hope, optimism, and improving the country’s conditions if he was elected. He campaigned on the slogan “Build Back Better” in 2020, but the 46th president hasn’t built anything back or better nearly three years into his term.
From inflation to crime to interest rates to arguably every other aspect of society, things have worsened for Americans since his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021. And with his proposed reclassification of marijuana, Biden is about to make his greatest mistake to date.
INTEREST RATES FOR RETAIL CREDIT CARDS HIT RECORD AS FED WORKS TO CONTAIN INFLATION
At Biden’s request, the Department of Health and Human Services requested that the Drug Enforcement Agency reclassify the dangerous drug marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug. Such an approval would mean that marijuana “would no longer be listed as a dangerous substance like heroin or LSD, and it would reduce or potentially eliminate criminal penalties for possession,” according to FOX 5 DC.
Around the time of Biden’s request, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra attempted to rationalize and justify the reclassification. Becerra took to X, formerly Twitter, to claim that (once again) Democrat politicians and experts followed “data and science” as the basis for the recommendation.
“We’ve worked to ensure that a scientific evaluation be completed and shared expeditiously,” Becerra posted.
The same people in government who claimed “data and science” proved that masks and vaccines were effective at stopping the spread of COVID-19 and stopping people from dying from the virus have now used “data and science” to show that marijuana isn’t a dangerous substance. Once again, they were wrong. Shortly after this request, a new study was published linking marijuana with “heart failure and heart attacks.”
Adults who “overuse cannabis are 60% more likely to experience heart failure, strokes, or heart attacks compared to adults of the same age and sex without cannabis use disorder,” the new study revealed. This comes less than two months after a different study by Northwestern Medicine found that marijuana use was linked to “changes in the human epigenome.”
Despite Becerra’s assertions, a drug linked to all these harmful conditions should be considered a “dangerous substance.”
Moreover, this is in addition to the numerous studies that have revealed the harmful effects of marijuana use, including brain abnormalities, permanent IQ loss, decline in cognitive abilities, and challenges with human emotional development. Furthermore, “data and science” revealed links between marijuana use and dangerous mental health disorders, including suicide ideation, anxiety, depression, and psychotic episodes.
Additionally, research has shown a significant increase in fatal car crashes involving marijuana usage as more states began to legalize it. A recent study found that serious crashes involving marijuana use that “required treatment in an emergency room” increased 475% between 2010 and 2021. Comparatively, car crashes related to drunk driving rose only 9.4% during that same period.
Numerous studies have shown a connection between using marijuana and fatal car crashes. As the number of states that have legalized marijuana has increased, so too have fatal car crashes involving the drug. Another study found that national legalization of marijuana in the U.S. would lead to an annual 6,800 excess roadway deaths.

This is what President Joe Biden wants to legalize in America. Like everything else he touches, Americans would suffer because of it.
Everyone should disregard the corrupted and agenda-driven “data and science” the current presidential administration wants to propagandize. Real science shows this disastrous path the country is on to make marijuana more accessible has already led to damaging and deadly consequences. The actual “data and science” is pretty compelling about what really happens the more people use marijuana.
