CNN has been barred from traveling on Air Force One with President Donald Trump and the White House press pool during the president’s trip to Tennessee on Saturday, the outlet said.
CNN reported on Friday that is was supposed to be part of the television pool traveling with Trump to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday as he attends the University of Tennessee vs. University of Texas college football game. However, CNN was excluded from the list of pool outlets designated as covering the trip, according to the outlet.
It is the latest development in Trump’s attempt to ban CNN, Politico, and MS Now from the White House. CNN was barred earlier in the week from traveling with Trump on Air Force One to New York City for the U.N. General Assembly as part of the TV pool.
However, a federal judge temporarily reinstated access for the outlets to White House grounds on Thursday morning. Trump-appointed Judge Timothy Kelly of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., ordered that the White House must reinstate the affected reporters’ press credentials and put a 14-day temporary restraining order on the president’s ban. However, Kelly’s order did not directly mention the issue of the traveling White House press pool.
The White House press pool resumed coverage of Trump — following a brief hiatus imposed in solidarity with the three banned outlets — on Friday after the White House allowed the media back on the White House premises.
CNN covered an in-town pool assignment on Friday, following Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to the National Archives. However, the outlet was barred from Trump’s Thursday night’s state dinner with Xi, along with MS Now.

Real America’s Voice News replaced CNN for the coverage of Trump’s football game visit on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
