President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump are making an announcement regarding the administration’s new “Fostering the Future” program.
The announcement is set to take place at 4 p.m.
The White House unveiled the initiative in June, pitching it as a way for foster youth to achieve financial autonomy once they age out of the system.
“Fostering the Future Accounts give foster children the same chance for asset ownership and long-term wealth building as every other American child. By investing in our foster youth now, we help strengthen America’s workforce, communities, and economic future,” Melania Trump said in June.
