Temperatures in the United States might have soared over Independence Day, but a network of gas stations promoted by President Donald Trump helped cool fuel costs in the Philadelphia region over the holiday weekend. Gas prices at the Freedom Fuel Network saved motorists at the pumps in and around the City of Brotherly Love in honor of “America’s 250th birthday.” While the national average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.79 on Monday, motorists in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey could fill up at FFN gas stations for just $3.47 per gallon.

The savings were even more impressive when considering the statewide average prices for regular gas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Philadelphia County. Gas prices in Pennsylvania are much higher than the national average, with regular gas costing $3.97 per gallon, according to AAA. In New Jersey, the statewide average is $3.82 per gallon, while in Philadelphia County, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.95. Both averages are significantly higher than the $3.47 total at Freedom Fuel Network gas stations. Given that the gas tank of a standard car is between 12 and 16 gallons, drivers in the Philadelphia metropolitan area saved an average amount of approximately $5.76 to $7.68 per fill-up in Philadelphia and the surrounding Pennsylvania suburbs and $4.20 to $5.60 in New Jersey.
What is Freedom Fuel Network
The existence of Freedom Fuel Network in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area was shrouded in mystery when Trump first announced it in a post to his Truth Social account on the evening of July 1. Without any explanation or specification, the president said that “a very smart retailer located throughout the northeast” was stepping up to provide discounted gasoline at “25 ‘Freedom Fuel Stations.’”
“As we approach America’s 250th Birthday, I am pleased to announce that a VERY smart Retailer, located throughout the Northeast, is stepping up, and wishing the People of Philadelphia a ‘Happy Birthday!’” Trump said. “On July 3rd, the Freedom Fuel Network will be lowering gas prices at 25 “FREEDOM FUEL” Stations across the Greater Philadelphia Area. This Retailer is taking the lead, and others should follow. They are doing this because they love the U.S.A.”
So what is the Freedom Fuel Network? No one is exactly sure. It seems to be a group of 25 gas stations in the Philadelphia metropolitan area that came to an agreement to offer gas at subsidized prices. The gas stations were located throughout Philadelphia, its suburbs in Pennsylvania, and in southern New Jersey and were published on this website. The FFN didn’t appear to exist before Trump’s Truth Social post, and it was unconfirmed if the owners of the gas stations were related or connected in some way.
‘Thanks Trump for the cheaper gas’
Being a resident in the Philadelphia area, I benefited from Trump’s arrangement of the Freedom Fuel Network and filled up twice in two locations, one in Philadelphia and one in New Jersey, over the course of the last four days, and doing so saved me money. Both locations I visited were packed with motorists waiting to get fuel over the holiday weekend. The employees who worked at each location did not want to comment for this article. One customer that I spoke to, who was filling up next to me, was unaware of the rebranding to the Freedom Fuel Network but was glad that it happened.

“I was wondering why gas here was cheaper than the other stations in the hood,” one person told me. “Thanks, Trump, for the cheaper gas.”
Left-wing media publications slammed Trump for the Freedom Fuel Network
Hell hath no fury as the left-wing media’s disdain for Trump helping out working-class people, and the president’s announcement of the Freedom Fuel Network was no exception. Social media users on various platforms blasted Trump for FFN, in some instances, calling it “AI slop” and fake. Others criticized the image Trump posted, saying the president posted a “fake gas station image.” While the image in Trump’s post was not a picture of an actual Freedom Fuel Network gas station, it was typical unhinged left-wing bias to call it fake. It was a conceptual design, not a fake gas station. The logo and promotional marketing imagery were present at both gas stations that I visited — and unlike the publications, pundits, and agenda-driven politicos who criticized the FFN, I actually visited them.
Granted, if these criticisms had said the launch of FFN was confusing or vague, that would have been understandable and arguably valid. However, none of those who slammed the Freedom Fuel Network appeared to have issued corrections or updates about it. This is not shocking in any way because it is indicative of the deception of the Left. They are not interested in truth, just attacks on the president in an attempt to somehow discredit or embarrass him.
However, they were wrong. The Freedom Fuel Network is legitimate, operational, and saving people in the Philadelphia area money on gas.
