House Democrats will hold a press conference on healthcare at around 12 p.m. as the government shutdown continues into its eighth day.
The House has already passed the government funding resolution and is currently out of session. The Senate has yet to agree on a solution to the government shutdown.

Democrats have pinned the shutdown on Republicans because of their failure to concede certain healthcare provisions. “We believe healthcare is a right for every American,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) posted on X at the start of the shutdown.
“But starting today, millions will get notice that they are being priced out of their insurance due to Republican policies. Enough is enough. GOP may shut down the government, but we stand up for you,” she added.
