Melania Trump memorializes Camp Mystic girls who died in Texas floods with charm bracelet: ‘Sacred place in my heart’

First lady Melania Trump donned a bracelet to honor the “the young souls who now watch over us from heaven” after several girls died in the Texas floods.

A flood from last week led to the deaths of at least 129 people as of Saturday night. Over 160 people remain missing. Melania Trump, alongside her husband President Donald Trump, visited Texas on Friday, where at a roundtable discussion with first responders and local officials she debuted a charm bracelet in honor of several young girls who died while attending Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian camp located along the Guadalupe River.

“FOREVER LOVE, MYSTIC,” the first lady posted on Instagram Saturday with close-up photos of the jewelry. “This bracelet will forever hold a sacred place in my heart — a quiet, shining thread to the young souls who now watch over us from heaven.”

Trump said she was gifted the bracelet and is pictured with other women wearing similar bracelets. One charm is in the shape of Texas, another reads “M25,” and another features a Christian cross underneath a rainbow and a heart.

“Each charm carries the weight of their memory, the warmth of their presence, and will forever symbolize their love,” Trump wrote. “Mystic is permanently bound through the joyous times spent together and the remembrance of their shared laughter.”

Trump met with some of the families affected by the floods. The first lady offered her “deepest sympathy” and assured them, “Our nation is grieving with you.”

HEAVY RAIN HALTS SEARCH FOR TEXAS FLOOD VICTIMS WITH MORE THAN 160 STILL MISSING

This trip to Texas was one of few public appearances for the first lady since her husband began his second term. She has previously joined the president out in public for a handful of social events, including the Kennedy Center’s opening night of the Tony-winning musical Les Miserables last month and a visit to California a few days after he took office in January to meet with residents following the state’s devastating wildfires.

Melania Trump has her own online retail venture that includes a line of jewelry. The website’s latest release was a gold-vermeiled necklace, selling for $245.
