President-elect Donald Trump took the opportunity to hit out at “the Radical Left Lunatics” this Thanksgiving as his holiday message victory lapped his “landslide” election win.
In a Truth Social post in the small hours of Thanksgiving morning, he wrote: “Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
“Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!”
TRUMP’S MEXICO BACK-AND-FORTH GLOSSES OVER WHAT WAS ALREADY BEING DONE
The message evoked a classic Trump Thanksgiving post from 11 years ago, well before his tenure as president, when he posted on Twitter (now X): “Happy Thanksgiving to all — even the haters and losers!”
Trump has been working at a breakneck pace since he secured a comfortable electoral win against Vice President Kamala Harris, winning both the Electoral College and the popular vote.
He has announced nominees for all of his Cabinet positions and key administration posts. By this time in the 2016 cycle, he had only announced two positions: Jeff Sessions as attorney general and Mike Pompeo as the director of the CIA.
Trump has also been quick to move on fulfilling campaign promises. On Monday, he announced tariffs on goods from China, Mexico, and Canada over drug trafficking.
That, in turn, sparked conversations with Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday.
“Just had a wonderful conversation with the new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “She has agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border. We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the United States, and also, U.S. consumption of these drugs. It was a very productive conversation!”
That announcement appeared to be contradicted by Sheinbaum.
Trump’s Thanksgiving message contrasts with that of President Joe Biden, who chose to release a short message accompanied by a video.
“With hearts full of gratitude: Happy Thanksgiving, America,” he wrote.
“Jill and I are so grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us these past four years — serving you has been the honor of our lives.”

Biden dropped out of the presidential election after a disastrous debate with Trump, succumbing to internal pressure from party elders, including the likes of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). His replacement, Harris, was eventually comfortably beaten in the November contest, paving the way for Trump to make history and return to the White House, becoming only the second president to serve two nonconsecutive terms.
