Doug Emhoff predicts ‘more dreidels’ in White House Christmas decor if Harris wins

.

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff told SiriusXM host Andy Cohen that Christmas decorations at the White House may include “more dreidels” if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election.

“I’m a Jew who loves Christmas,” Cohen said to Emhoff on Thursday while asking about the future of the Christmas decorations at the White House.

“I will uphold my oath of office,” the Jewish second gentleman responded.

“It’s going to be Christmas. We may throw some gelt in there. Maybe a few more dreidels,” Emhoff said.

During an interview with radio personality Charlamagne tha God this week, Harris said she had grown up in “a black church” and had attended 23rd Avenue Church of God in Oakland, California.

Last year, Harris and Emhoff received criticism for posting a social media post in front of a Christmas tree while writing in the caption, “Wishing everyone a happy holiday season.”

“Say it……. MERRY CHRISTMAS!” some social media users responded.

Harris and Emhoff later posted several “Merry Christmas” posts, including one of them cooking in their kitchen: “Wishing a Merry Christmas to all those who like to cook and all those who like to eat.”

The SiriusXM host continued to ask Emhoff if he had any “causes” he planned to take up as first gentleman if his wife were to win the election.

“Well, we gotta win first in 19 or 20 days left, “Emhoff said Thursday of the tight election.

He did note the problem of “antisemitism has not gone away” and said it will definitely be something that he will fight against in his possible new role.

He told Cohen that Trump has exhibited antisemitism his “whole career” and will “blame the Jews if he doesn’t win.” Emhoff omitted that Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are Jewish and were instrumental in orchestrating the Abraham Accords, a landmark peace deal in the Middle East during the Republican’s presidency.

“In Kamala Harris, I didn’t have to explain to her what a Jew was. She knew what I was,” Emhoff said to Cohen.

Cohen announced this week on social media that he was endorsing Harris for president and stated it was because he wanted his daughter “to have jurisdiction over her own body” and be able to “make her own decisions.”

“Women should have the right to do whatever the heck they want to do and I’m here for my daughter,” Cohen said, referencing Democratic concerns about abortion laws, adding, “That’s one of the reasons Kamala is getting my vote.”
