Biden Classified Documents
The building that housed office space of President Joe Biden’s former institute, the Penn Biden Center, is seen at the corner of Constitution and Louisiana Avenue NW, in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023. Potentially classified documents were found on Nov. 2, 2022, in a “locked closet” in the office, according to special counsel to the president Richard Sauber. The National Archives and Records Administration took custody of the documents the next day after being notified by the White House Counsel’s office. The Penn Biden Center has sent materials to the House Oversight Committee relating to the classified documents scandal.

The committee wrote a letter in January asking for information related to President Joe Biden‘s papers stored at the think tank and revealed to the Washington Examiner that the Penn Biden Center is complying.

EX-BIDEN AIDE DIDN’T KNOW SHE UNPACKED CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS IN PENN OFFICE: REPORT

“The University of Pennsylvania is cooperating with Chairman Comer’s request and has produced documents,” an aide said.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent the letter to University of Pennsylvania President Mary Elizabeth Magill on Jan. 18 requesting “documents and information related to foreign influence” at the school and the Penn Biden Center, which it owns.

The school has, in fact, sent documents to the committee, though it’s unknown for now what they are or when they could be released to the public.

Attorneys for Biden initially found a batch of documents inside a locked closet at the Washington, D.C.-based think tank on Nov. 2, prompting officials to turn over the materials to the National Archives and Records Administration. The NARA then alerted the Justice Department about the finding on Nov. 4. However, the public didn’t learn about the search until it was leaked to CBS News on Jan. 31.

The scandal consumed Washington for several weeks, but the trail mostly went cold as the White House refused to provide more information and mostly stiff-armed questions from reporters.

As the controversy widened, Biden’s two Delaware homes were later searched, as were his papers located at the University of Delaware.

The Penn Biden Center is located in Washington, near the U.S. Capitol, but is considered part of the University of Pennsylvania and has drawn intense scrutiny for its strong ties to China.

Records indicate that the University of Pennsylvania amassed millions from foreign countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, and more. Following Biden’s appointment as an honorary professor, donations from foreign entities exploded from $31 million in 2016 to over $100 million in 2019, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
