It’s time to start tracking all misinformation spread by the Biden administration

During the 2020 presidential campaign, nearly every Democrat criticized the alleged number of lies then-President Donald Trump told during his time in office. Additionally, the media jumped in and repeated the “Trump lies” messaging. The Washington Post even supposedly tallied up and kept track of Trump’s lies, saying the former president told 30,573 lies over four years. And as a citizen of the country, I honestly think there is nothing wrong with that — politically biased as it may be. The people should know when their president isn’t telling the truth.
However, when President Joe Biden entered the White House in January 2021, the Post suddenly decided a president’s lies didn’t matter anymore. For a publication that has the motto, “Democracy dies in darkness,” it sure had no problem helping to usher in the shadows. Unfortunately, this was a practice repeated by nearly everyone on the Left.
THE DELUSION OF THE LEFT’S DIVERSITY POLITICS
And therein lies the problem. A supposedly objective media source weaponized a president’s dishonesty to influence public opinion. If it wanted to highlight Trump’s falsehoods, that is fair game. However, they should have applied the same standards to Biden. The fact that the Post (or seemingly everyone on the Left) didn’t is problematic. Biden repeatedly doesn’t tell the truth — his misinformation should be tracked like Trump’s.
Consider the latest lie from the Biden administration perpetuated by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. While discussing Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, the one the Left purposely mislabeled as the “don’t say gay law” to stoke fear and hysteria, Jean-Pierre wrongly claimed that gay teachers are not permitted to have pictures of their same-sex spouse in classrooms.
“I also want to say a word about the decision yesterday made by the Florida Board of Education to expand the state’s dystopian Don’t Say Gay law. As this measure takes effect, it will prohibit all students up to seniors in high school from learning about our, or, learning about or even discussing LGBTQI+ people in the classrooms,” the press secretary said.
“Teachers in Florida have already faced the devastating consequences of the existing law. Under threat of having their licenses revoked, gay teachers have been forced to take down pictures of their spouses from their desks and censor their classroom materials. Censoring our classes is not how public education is supposed to work in a free country. Conservative politicians love to complain about the so-called cancel culture, all while threatening teachers with losing their jobs if they teach something that the MAGA extremists don’t agree with,” she added.
However, none of this is or was true. It’s the kind of misinformation and hyperbolic hysteria the Biden administration is known for. Its officials claim they want truth and honesty in government but are among the biggest spreaders of deceit and disinformation. Unfortunately, many legacy media outlets replicate these despicable tactics.
All of the Biden administration’s misinformation should be tallied to counter this propaganda. Regardless of ideology or political affiliation, the people deserve to know when the president is honest with them or when officials are advancing agenda-driven deceit to promote political narratives and platforms.
