Former President Barack Obama called Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson on Saturday, offering the freshly elected Johnson a bit of parenting advice.

Obama, whose political career saw him journey from Chicago’s South Side to the White House, had an “extended conversation” with Johnson, a 47-year-old father of three, according to a report.

“Obama spent a decent amount of time giving advice about raising a family with young kids while holding executive office,” a source close to Johnson reportedly said.

“Obama made a general offer of assistance and support as Johnson takes office.”

Johnson and his wife Stacie have two boys, 15-year-old Owen and 10-year-old Ethan, along with their 8-year-old daughter Braedyn, according to the report.

The mayor-elect defeated Paul Vallas last week to become Chicago’s 57th mayor, and his young children will be raised in the political spotlight.

Former first lady Michelle Obama has frequently commented on raising the Obamas’ daughters, Malia and Sasha, as the 44th president made his way from Hyde Park and Springfield to Washington, D.C.
