The United States Park Police released the bodycam footage from the night of a fatal shooting of a teenager in Washington, D.C., who was found asleep in a running car.

Police fatally shot Dalaneo Martin, 17, who was discovered sleeping in a stolen car near Baker Street Northeast on March 18.

A briefing released by Park Police said Metropolitan Police officers determined the car was stolen after running its license plate and locating a “punched” or damaged ignition. Washington, D.C., police then called Park Police to come to the scene.

The footage, listed as body-worn cameras from Officer #1 and Officer #2, shows that officers tried to detain Martin, but Martin began driving the car before eventually crashing into a home. Officer #1 was inside the vehicle with Martin, while Officer #2 was outside the car.

Officer #1 repeatedly said “stop” before firing his gun.

“Stop, man. Just let me out,” the officer said, warning that he would shoot if Martin did not stop the car. He eventually shot Martin at least five times in the back.
