Zelensky address
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is delivering an address at the United States National Archives during his visit to Washington, D.C.
Zelensky first made a surprise visit to the United States last December, during the crucial Battle of Bakhmut, which ultimately ended in a Ukrainian defeat. After meeting with Biden personally, he also spoke to Congress, presenting them with a Ukrainian flag signed by defenders of the embattled city.

The Ukrainian president visited Congress to meet congressional leaders but was notably snubbed by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who faces heavy internal criticism from conservative representatives over aid to Ukraine. McCarthy notably declined a request by Zelensky to deliver an address to a joint session of Congress.
Zelensky arrived in the U.S. days ago in order to speak in front of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Zelensky is expected to speak at 5 p.m. Eastern time.
