“We are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole and making adjustments based on information from the National Weather Service,” the Disney Parks account tweeted.
“Folks all along the East Coast need to monitor #Nicole as it may bring flooding impacts all the way from Florida to Maine,” the National Weather Service tweeted Wednesday. Nicole is still classified as only a storm by National Weather Service and sits on the Atlantic Ocean east of Florida and its Kennedy Space Center. The weather service has alluded that the storm is likely to become a hurricane Wednesday.
The storm made landfall at Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas Wednesday according to National Hurricane Center Acting Deputy Director Michael Brennan. He went on to say that by the time it makes landfall in Florida, either late Wednesday night or early Thursday, it could be considered a hurricane.
Nicole is anticipated to have a maximum sustained wind speed of 70 miles per hour and bring about one to five feet of ocean flooding on both coasts of Florida. The entire east coast is anticipated to receive multiple inches of rain as it passes through.
