Matt Walsh is fighting the hypocrisy of DEI in Am I Racist?

.

Matt Walsh, a certified DEI consultant, criticized the diversity, equity, and inclusion industry for profiting off people’s guilt. His new movie Am I Racist? plastered on screen the high fees charged for DEI-related events and interviews.

The documentary is Walsh’s second original film and first for Daily Wire+ to hit theaters. Walsh sits for an episode of Restoring America with Kaylee McGhee White to discuss the hypocrisy behind DEI ideology.

“The kind of anti-black racism the anti-racism movement is meant to supposedly expose and dismantle, it just doesn’t exist,” Walsh said. “It hasn’t existed in this country for many years. Thankfully!”

In one scene, Walsh is talking about whether it’s racist for his daughter to want to dress up as Moana. Walsh tells Restoring America host Kaylee McGhee White that the film aimed to show viewers, rather than tell them, how hypocritical the entire anti-racism philosophy is and how self-defeating the DEI agenda is.

“Rather than doing a more traditional documentary, where you’re presenting the argument and explaining why DEI is harmful, toxic, and destructive to society, if we could have me embody this thing and accept it and take it seriously and let it guide me down the path. By the end of it, people can see where it leads.”

“I sort of already knew DEI was bad, but I guess one of the big takeaways for me was just seeing how effective these DEI grifters are at brainwashing people,” Walsh said. “I know the grifters themselves are in it for the money, the power, and the influence they have over other people. But the real revelatory thing for me was seeing the people that go to the seminars and buy the books and all of that stuff, to see how sincerely it seems to me they have fallen prey to this kind of indoctrination.”

Viewers are shown this in the dinner party scene. This is a real event called “Race2Dinner” where white women subject themselves to being yelled at for a couple of hours straight by Regina Jackson and Saira Rao. Walsh described the meal as a brainwashing session.

“They’ve been doing this for years,” Walsh said. “They explain to white women why they’re racist for two hours as everybody eats their meal. Just listening to these two women breaking these other women down psychologically, it’s a very intense kind of brainwashing session. It was unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed in person before. It was quite, just quite disturbing.”

Walsh explains how things such as affirmative action and the DEI policies corporate America has put in place to explicitly exclude certain groups could be considered a form of racism against white people.

“I mean, systemic racism does not exist,” Walsh said blatantly. “Anti-black systemic racism? You could argue that systemic racism against white people does exist.”

Walsh tells McGhee White that those who work in the DEI industry cannot accept systemic racism is done and racism is not applicable in society because it interrupts their bottom line.

“Because then they lose the money, influence, and power,” Walsh said. “So, their job is to just continually convince people, ‘You think you’re not racist? But you are.’ That’s the game.”

McGhee White asked Walsh, now that he has exposed DEI, “What are the next steps for conservatives to put this in the grave for good?”

Walsh says while DEI isn’t on its deathbed, it’s not long for this world.

“If you get 100 people in a room and you ask them about DEI, it’ll have a negative connotation to most of them,” Walsh said. “It’s going to be a long process because it took generations for left-wing racial ideology to become dominant in our culture, so it’s probably going to take generations to get rid of it.”
