The problems appear to have begun around 9 a.m. Eastern time, as those trying to get in the online queue were unable to.
Ticketmaster later followed up with a message for mobile app users.
“We Apologize for the Interruption. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and our team is working to resolve this as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Please check back soon to continue. In just a moment, you’ll be automatically redirected to our homepage.”
The company also alerted users on Twitter who received a special verified fan presale code not to log into the website as usual.
“If you received a code to the TaylorSwiftTix Presale, please login and access the queue through the link you received via text rather than entering through the Ticketmaster homepage. This will ensure an optimal shopping experience,” Ticketmaster Fan Support tweeted.
Some fans who were able to get in still didn’t wind up with tickets right away.
Others noted how tickets were immediately available on the resale site StubHub.
“My friend had Ticketmaster crash about 8 times while waiting for the Taylor verified fan presale and is *still* in the queue nearly an hour later but hundreds of tickets are already on stubhub for thousands $$$ for our date alone. Two of us didn’t even get access. Cool cool cool,” the fan tweeted.
Taylor Swift has not commented on the difficulty fans are having getting tickets to her tour.
