Hanks is known for countless roles in iconic movies, including some that deal with military and war subject matter such as Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump. The actor is now selling ground coffee, coffee pods, and instant coffee on a retail website. The company has been dubbed Hanx.
“We saw HANX as a way to support Veterans and military families, as 100% of the profits go to organizations that have proven to be of great aid to those who have served our country,” Hanks said. “Good products for good reason.”
The various coffee products go for anywhere between $12 and $16, with the promise of more products being released soon. It also purports to be American-roasted, ethically sourced, and sustainably made coffee.
Its website also includes links to other veteran-owned businesses and stories from the field from active and retired members.
Meanwhile, the Department of Veterans Affairs is facing two lawsuits, one for allegedly discriminating against black veterans and another for violating a court mandate to provide housing to veterans in Los Angeles, California.
