Like toddlers who have discovered a new word, Democrats and their media allies have decided that everything they don’t like is an “insurrection.”

The latest example of this came on MSNBC. After 20 Republicans temporarily held out from voting for Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to become the speaker of the House in order to extract concessions about the rules of the House, Jonathan Capehart declared that the five-day holdout “was a continuation of that insurrection,” referring to the Jan. 6 riot. Bobblehead Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) assured him that he wasn’t being crazy and was, in fact, correct.

DEMOCRATS KEEP MEMORY OF JAN. 6 ALIVE AS PARTY LOOKS AHEAD TO 2024

That’s right, Republicans reaching compromises to determine who will lead their party is actually an insurrection. What do you know?

Perhaps Capehart and Dean are not used to such a debate, given how routinely Democrats bent the knee and fell in line whenever Nancy Pelosi ordered them to, but debates, compromises, and concessions are generally good in politics. But Democrats have nothing to run on for 2024, just as they didn’t in 2022, other than constantly talking about insurrections and tying everything Republicans do to the Jan. 6 riot. And so they go on.

So do their media allies. In December 2021, the Atlantic’s Ron Brownstein said on CNN that the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” was also “fundamentally about insurrection” after a man jokingly said it to President Joe Biden. CBS News crafted a poll to try and make it seem like a majority of Republicans supported overthrowing the government by railroading them into positive answers.

At Salon, Amanda Marcotte declared that “the Speaker fight may stoke terrorism.” Several House Democrats, including Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), the Matt Gaetz of the Democratic Party, said that Democrats worried one of their Republican colleagues will commit a mass shooting on the House floor, all because Republicans removed metal detectors that were installed only three years ago.

Just as Democrats cry racism whenever they don’t get their way (even if they have to erase black people to do so), they now cry insurrection to portray any GOP attempt to do anything as a threat to their lives. Even normal campaign ads are responsible for violence, according to several journalists. It’s a political tactic and nothing more, and you can be sure Democrats will continue to play the insurrection card any time news comes out of the GOP-controlled House for the next two years.
