Establishment media celebrate the climate cult to ring in the new year

No one knows exactly what 2023 will bring, but there is one safe guess: The climate cult will become more unhinged, as it has with each passing year.
Ringing in the new year, CBS’s 60 Minutes spoke to biologist Paul Ehrlich, who once again warned that we are all doomed because there are too many people on the planet. “To maintain our lifestyle for the entire planet, you’d need five more Earths,” Ehrlich said. “Not clear where they’re gonna come from.”
THEY SIGNED ALL THESE CLIMATE AGREEMENTS, AND ALL WE GOT WAS A NEW WORLD RECORD FOR BURNING COAL
Ehrlich is not simply an environmentalist doomsayer, though. He is a discredited environmentalist doomsayer. In 1968, he declared that “the battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s the world will undergo famines-hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. At this late date nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate.”
He was wildly wrong then. He was wildly wrong in 1980 when he made a bet with economist Julian Simon that the price of a basket of commodities (of Ehrlich’s own choosing) would rise as a result of the growing world population. But there is no way he could be wildly wrong now while parroting the exact same doom-mongering about humanity again, right?
Meanwhile, the New York Times found time to promote yet another climate group that thinks that blocking traffic is what will save the planet. This time, the group is from Germany, and the New York Times triumphantly touts that “it took them donning neon vests, walking into traffic at rush hour and gluing themselves to the streets in Berlin and Munich, causing miles-long backups and bringing drivers to murderous rage, to make their protest impossible to ignore.”
While the New York Times informs us how scary it is for these brave climate heroes to play in traffic, Germany is in an energy crisis. The country shut down nuclear plants in the name of climate zealotry, becoming dependent on Russian gas. Like Ehrlich, the climate cult was wrong in Germany, and yet we must be told of its brave resistance by legacy media.

It will only get worse in 2023. Climate activists do not care that their energy policies will move society backward, as they have done in California. They do not care that the climate alarmism they have treated as gospel from people such as Ehrlich or former Vice President Al Gore has been spectacularly wrong. It is simply replaced by more alarmism at a higher volume, along with more destructive policies, and establishment media celebrate it all the same.
