The United Nations’s Palestinian aid agency is a corrupt, terrorism-enabling body that should be dissolved immediately, as should the U.N. itself for allowing it to continue in its current state.
Israeli forces discovered a Hamas military compound underneath the United Nations Relief and Works Agency headquarters in Gaza. UNRWA officials apparently had no idea that Hamas terrorists had a server room, complete with battery power banks and wires dropping down through the floor of UNRWA’s building.

Then again, UNRWA also apparently had no idea that several of its employees were terrorists who went on to participate in the Oct. 7 massacre of Israeli civilians. The United Nations also was supposedly shocked, with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres claiming he “acted immediately in order to guarantee that UNRWA is to be able to avoid any kind of infiltration by Hamas.”
Yet, the head of UNRWA back in 2004 gave away the entire “secret,” along with the U.N.’s nonchalant attitude toward employing Palestinian terrorists. “Oh, I am sure that there are Hamas members on the UNRWA payroll,” then-UNRWA Commissioner-General Peter Hansen said, “and I don’t see that as a crime.”

For decades, UNRWA has perpetuated the “refugee” crisis as a political weapon to wield against Israel, all while Hamas diverted UNRWA aid to its terrorist causes. UNRWA schools have been used to promote antisemitism and UNRWA ambulances have been used as terrorist transport. All the while, both the agency and the U.N. itself have run propaganda campaigns on behalf of those terrorists. The fact that UNRWA’s headquarters was (likely willingly) being used as a shield over a Hamas base is perhaps the least surprising story to emerge during this war.
It is not good enough for the U.S. and other countries to simply temporarily halt funding for UNRWA. The agency has proven that it must be disbanded, as it has been thoroughly corrupted by its pro-terrorist sympathies and by actual terrorists. If the United Nations cannot bring itself to admit this, then it is another drop in the bucket of proof that the U.N. is just as corrupt and ideologically blinded as UNRWA, and that it deserves the same fate.
