We have to make a more concerted effort to repel leftist candidates for local elections before they can breach the gates and cause damage for us to clean up later.
Jennifer Shabazz is the principal of Ballard Elementary School in Michigan. She has been a longtime resident of South Bend, Indiana, and is now running for an opening position on the County Council of St. Joseph County, Indiana. She is also a radical leftist activist.
It is not hard to uncover evidence of this, as Shabazz proudly flaunts it any chance she gets. Her Facebook is littered with images and comments of her hating her country and protesting for the right to murder babies. She proudly served as an organizer for multiple Democratic campaigns. Regarding her decision to try and replace Republican Councilman Derek Dieter, Shabazz said, “I’m looking to run for office to use my experience and my background and my activism to continue to promote the health and safety of our community.”
Shabazz has spent her time as an elementary school principal creating curriculum sessions to equip her teachers with the tools they need to inject every subject with lessons on intersectionality. She uses her platform to spread her activism to the children of unsuspecting parents in Michigan.
One could say Jennifer Shabazz and her husband, Muhammad Shabazz, are partners in crime. Muhammad Shabazz has been accused of sexually harassing a Republican subordinate during his time as a board member in the St. Joseph County voter registration office. He was only punished with two weeks of paid leave and eventually a demand to step down from the position. He now serves comfortably on the Portage Township school district board in Indiana.
Jennifer and Muhammad Shabazz are but two of thousands of destructive leftist activists seeking to spread their ideological viruses throughout local districts and school boards across the country. A Heritage Foundation survey found that 58% of teachers believe that minorities have been systematically oppressed in the United States since its founding, and 44% believe that critical race theory should be used to train educators.
Those percentages are already concerningly high, but they will only increase with the delayed reaction time of rational parents and voters. While we have made some strides against activists in higher education, the fight is still in its early stages in lower education, and the other side does not plan on giving up.
The Department of Education’s secretary, Miguel Cardona, wants all schools to be “Investing in, recruiting, and supporting the professional development of a diverse educator workforce” that is dedicated to promoting the Left’s schemes.

We have to get more aggressive about ensuring that leftist agents like the Shabazzs do not infiltrate any further. It is much harder to root out these people once they have acquired their seats and become well established there. All the while, they will be using their positions to wreak as much havoc as possible on our children and our local policies.
As much damage can be done to your community by local powers as can be done by the federal government. We have to expose these pretend educators at every turn, spread the news of their true intentions, and keep reminding local voters to vote against them. We must preemptively end the Left’s assaults before they begin. We must repel the enemy at the gates.
