The White House announced Wednesday that President Joe Biden will finally visit the community of East Palestine, Ohio, next month, a year after a train derailed and spewed toxic fumes into the air.
Biden’s refusal to visit the site of the disaster over the past year betrayed his callous disregard for a community that has suffered greatly over the past year. Now, a year after the disaster and as he ramps up his reelection campaign, the president has suddenly decided that he should finally make a visit to this forgotten working-class community.
While it is certainly not a bad thing that Biden is finally visiting East Palestine, this visit should have come a year ago.

The people of East Palestine were hurting, and Biden was nowhere to be seen. Instead, former President Donald Trump made his way to that community and provided the very leadership and compassion that was so sorely lacking.
“With the World blowing up around us, with the Middle East on FIRE, Biden has finally decided to visit East Palestine, Ohio, a year late, and only to develop some political credibility because EVERYTHING else he has done has been such a DISASTER,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Wednesday following the announcement of Biden’s impending visit. “I know those great people, I was there when it counted, and his reception won’t be a warm one. Worst President in History!

As Trump said in his post, he’s a year too late.
