Biden disapproval: MSNBC’s Joy Reid says the quiet part out loud

.

The media is indeed carrying President Joe Biden’s water for him at every possible moment, but even they cannot deny his failures as a president.

On Monday, MSNBC host Joy Reid was covering President Joe Biden’s recent assurance that he was prepared to shut down the border immediately and that it is the fault of Congress that he has not when she accidentally let slip and muttered, “Starting another f***ing war,” on air.

It remains unclear whether Reid’s comment was in reference to the intense standoff along Texas’s southern border between half of the nation’s governors and the Biden administration or to the killing of three American servicemen by an Iranian strike drone that Biden has yet to respond to.

The MSNBC host is not the only left-leaning public figure to be voicing criticisms of Biden since his election as his problems have become more clear, frequent, and catastrophic. The president chose to align himself with the most radical fringes of his party, pushing the goalpost further away from the center and effectively pushing those on his own side, with more centrist and independent views, closer to conservatives.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) made his presence in the Democratic Party known in 2021 when he refused to vote for Biden’s $1.75 trillion Build Back Better plan. He later compromised with the president in 2022 and voted for his Inflation Reduction Act. In 2023, however, Manchin rebuked Biden for poorly implementing the bill, claiming that “Washington hypocrisy has been on display.”

Businessman Elon Musk has claimed to have always supported Democratic nominees for the presidency in the past. He even insisted in a conference last November that he had a “great relationship” with former President Barack Obama. The same cannot be said for Biden, however, as he said in that same conference that he does not think he will vote for him. Musk added that his policies have “hurt the company [Tesla], too,” in reference to the damage the president has done to businesses.

Podcast host Joe Rogan was a passionate fan of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the 2020 election when he was running for president against Biden. While he had criticisms of Biden back then, they have become much more pronounced since his election. Last October, Rogan confessed that former President Donald Trump’s economic regulations “certainly helped the economy.” He said that America was “without a doubt” in a much better spot under Trump than it currently is under Biden.

The discontent of public figures such as Manchin, Musk, and Rogan toward Biden’s performance parallels that of centrist liberals and independents preparing to pick a presidential candidate in November. According to an overnight Messenger/Harris poll of registered voters, his net disapproval rating among independents is 63%, and his net approval rating is 32%.

Biden has done such a pathetic job handling his presidential responsibilities that he is driving away his centrist constituents in droves, and even his own media water-holders such as Reid can no longer keep themselves from admitting it.
