The Democrats’ portrayal of former President Donald Trump as a threat to democracy and MAGA Republicans as extremists helped turn the anticipated red tsunami into a mere red ripple in November 2022. Apparently, this narrative, combined with fearmongering over abortion rights, resonated with enough voters to take the focus off the unimaginable decline we’ve witnessed under our spavined, corrupt, and likely compromised commander in chief.
Certain that lightning could strike twice, President Joe Biden started the new year by delivering an impassioned plea to protect our democracy from a Trump dictatorship at a venue near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The location was chosen to conjure up memories of the courage and strength displayed by Gen. George Washington and his Continental army in their desperate fight for liberty and independence during the brutal winter of 1777. The Biden campaign imagined, wrongly, that those attributes might somehow attach themselves to Biden.
Unfortunately for them, their hopes were dashed by reality. The three biggest takeaways from Biden’s harangue had nothing to do with the speech itself. First, originally scheduled for Jan. 6, the third anniversary of the Capitol riot, the event was moved up a day due to an expected blizzard in the area. Frankly, if Biden were going for a comparison to Washington, no backdrop would have been more appropriate than a snowstorm at Valley Forge. But octogenarians, especially feeble ones, must be protected from extreme winter weather.
Second, when he finished speaking, a very confused-looking Biden had to be escorted off the stage by his wife, a phenomenon that now occurs with alarming frequency.
And third, a video of Biden’s shocking disorientation upon disembarking from his helicopter in Delaware afterward went viral on social media. Remarking on Biden’s bewilderment, the Citizen Free Press tweeted, “Joe Biden is cooked. The drugs have worn off for the night and he has no idea where he is.” The Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard noted, “I covered [the] White House for 10 years and never saw a president have interactions/directions like these.”
But well beyond the disastrous optics of the speech, revelations of the Democratic Party’s behind-the-scenes machinations, along with their decidedly undemocratic public actions since the midterm elections, have exposed a gaping disconnect between their claims and reality. Biden’s dismal poll numbers demonstrate that independent voters are finally catching on.
Since gaining control of the House in 2022, Republicans have helped expose Democrats’ hypocrisy. In April, for example, we learned that the infamous letter signed by 51 prominent former intelligence community leaders casting doubt on the authenticity of the Hunter Biden laptop story in October 2020 was instigated by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was then a top Biden campaign official. The signers, you may recall, claimed the story had all the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.
This letter was key to Biden’s victory. Just days after the letter was published, then-candidate Joe Biden used it to shut down Trump when he raised the topic of the family’s alleged overseas influence-peddling operations in a critical debate.
Then, the “Twitter Files,” which were released on a rolling basis after the midterm elections, revealed that an unholy alliance between the Democratic Party, the FBI, Big Tech, and the media worked to ensure a Biden victory in 2020. These entities abused their power to achieve a common goal: the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story. The revelations about then-Twitter’s inside dealings with the FBI exposed a concerted effort to manipulate the free flow of information to voters.
Moreover, Republican investigations have uncovered a treasure trove of evidence of the Biden family’s extensive foreign influence-peddling business. They have produced bank records showing that nine Biden family members, including a grandchild, received money from foreign nationals for no discernible business purpose. Investigators have traced the movement of these funds through an elaborate network of up to 20 shell corporations set up by Hunter Biden and his associates to create confusion.
But perhaps the most glaring evidence of the Democrats’ undemocratic agenda has been their unprecedented lawfare campaign against Trump. A coordinated effort by highly partisan federal and state prosecutors has indicted the former president on 91 contrived felony charges. The indictments and trials were timed to coincide with the 2024 election cycle.
Further, the Colorado Supreme Court and Maine’s secretary of state, evoking Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, a clause that prohibits those who have “engaged in insurrection” from serving in the federal government, have tried to remove Trump’s name from the ballots in their states. Unbelievably, the same Democrats who compared voter ID requirements to Jim Crow laws fully support these efforts.

When you add to the mix the 20% rise in prices for basic necessities that is now baked into the economy (regardless of the recent decline in inflation), 7% mortgages, the administration’s intentional failure to enforce U.S. immigration laws, Biden’s appeasement of Iran, two new foreign wars, and major division within their own party, it’s going to take a lot more than resurrecting memories of “Insurrection Day” to carry Biden to victory this time around.
The Left is correct that democracy is under attack, but they’re lying about its source. The encroaching tyranny that has engulfed our once, relatively, free society comes from the Democratic Party. Let’s hope the public agrees come November.
