The push to force President Joe Biden to take the side of Hamas terrorists is depraved. The reality is that anyone upset that the United States is unambiguously supporting Israel’s attempt to end the threat of Hamas terrorists is not worth indulging.

This push has extended from a handful of despicable House Democrats and antisemitic mobs of protesters to State Department employees who have raised a fuss because the U.S. isn’t insulting Israel enough to their liking. Now, American diplomats “in the Arab world” are claiming that American support for Israel during its campaign against Hamas “is losing us Arab publics for a generation” because that support is being seen “as material and moral culpability in what they consider to be possible war crimes.”

WHO’S IN AND WHO’S OUT: HERE’S THE SENATE STATE OF PLAY FOR 2024

At some point, though, morality takes top priority over pandering, even when it comes to diplomacy.

There is no scenario where the U.S. should indulge the notion that it is contributing to “what they consider to be possible war crimes.” Israel is going above and beyond to provide Palestinian civilians with opportunities to flee, with safe zones, and with advance warnings of where Israeli air strikes are targeting. The only war crimes in this conflict come courtesy of Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists targeting civilians and using civilians and hospitals to hide during a war they started.

If we are “losing Arab publics for a generation” for that, then so be it.

The United States cannot afford to sell its soul for the sake of diplomacy. America’s status as a shining beacon for the world, a land of opportunity and freedom, should not be tarnished because “Arab publics” are upset we are supporting a democratic ally who was attacked by bloodthirsty terrorists, now fighting against those very terrorists in a fight for its existence. (Those same terrorists killed at least 31 Americans in those Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, by the way, in case those “Arab publics” have forgotten.)

Diplomacy on the global stage may require some level of comfort in allying with countries with questionable human rights records and broken morals, but at some point, the U.S. must draw a line. This is one such example.

Palestinian terrorists started this fight, and they would wipe out everyone in Israel if they had the capability, as they proved on Oct. 7. The U.S. should be resolute in its support for Israel, and neither “Arab publics” nor far-left State Department employees should be allowed to pressure the U.S. into folding on behalf of antisemitic terrorists.
