Want to stop pandemic misinformation? Abolish the WHO

The World Health Organization wants countries to crack down on “misinformation” to be prepared for the next global pandemic. Countries can start by defunding and abolishing the World Health Organization.
The WHO is decrying that misinformation is “undermining” the “trust in science and scientists” around the world, claiming that it is an “infodemic” that “causes confusion and risk-taking behaviors that can harm health … leads to mistrust in health authorities and undermines the public health response.”

But the WHO has no one to blame for this but itself. The COVID-19 pandemic hit the world stage after the WHO parroted Chinese misinformation that there was “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission” of the virus, despite Chinese officials having that evidence and keeping it to themselves. WHO officials uncritically trusted the word of the Chinese Communist Party and did so while ignoring warnings from Taiwan about the virus.
The organization then launched a sham investigation into the origins of the virus that absolved the CCP of any blame. After backlash, it then launched another investigation that went nowhere because China froze the organization out despite its sycophancy toward the CCP as it froze out politically inconvenient Taiwan. The WHO learned nothing about COVID or its origins, misled the world at the onset of the pandemic, and fought against health-focused travel bans between countries. Now, it wants to lecture the world about health “misinformation.”

The World Health Organization is just another corrupt United Nations bureaucracy. It is subservient to the Chinese Communist Party. It empowers dictators, welcoming Syria and Belarus to its executive board in 2021. It is an entirely political organization, not a health organization. This was proven by the fact that, after all of this, the WHO never admitted it was wrong and apologized to Taiwan. Instead, its incompetent leader attacked Taiwan and blamed the country for some supposed racist insults leveled against him by who knows who.
The World Health Organization, like the United Nations as a whole, is an arrogant failure. Any self-respecting country would defund it and call for it to be dismantled from top to bottom. If you want to be prepared and properly informed ahead of the next pandemic, abolishing the World Health Organization would be a good first step.
