Folks, it’s time to admit the worst-kept secret in politics: President Joe Biden does not like to tell the truth.

This statement isn’t altogether shocking, given his history of making untruthful claims during his time as senator, vice president, and president. Many would argue Biden is one of the most dishonest politicians in America.

FANI WILLIS BANKROLLS PRIVATE ATTORNEY FOR TRUMP PROSECUTION: ‘CERTAINLY UNORTHODOX’

If Democrats or the legacy media had an ounce of integrity, or treated Biden how they did former President Donald Trump, the public would be aware of this. But despite this long history of falsehoods, Biden sunk to a new low when he was dishonest about being at ground zero the day after 9/11 in 2001.

“Ground zero in New York — I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. And I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell,” Biden said. “It looked so devastating because the way you could, from where you could stand. Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the Pentagon in Virginia — I spent many 9/11s in those hollow grounds to bear witness and remember those we lost.”

But this statement was unequivocally false. Based on his autobiography, Promises to Keep, Biden was in Washington, D.C., not New York City, on Sept. 12, 2001, the New York Post reported. It didn’t mention anything about visiting New York.

“I headed back to the Capitol the next morning,” Biden wrote.

The New York Post also reported two other pieces of information that refuted Biden’s claim. First, C-SPAN had footage of Biden’s speech at the Senate from Sept. 12, 2001. Second, a Gannett news wire report detailed Biden’s day with an article that began with the sentence: “Delaware Sen. Joe Biden spent Wednesday exactly where he wanted — in the U.S. Senate.”

Furthermore, CNN reported that an anonymous White House official emailed the network the following comment: “The President first visited the World Trade Center nine days after the September 11 terrorist attacks as part of a bipartisan delegation from the Senate.”

It’s one thing to stretch the truth and embellish one’s background — as he did about going to Catholic church every day, frequently attending services at black churches while in college, being “sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community,” and wanting to add a “-ski” to his last name because he grew up surrounded by so many Polish immigrants. That kind of pandering and cultural exploitation is pathetic. But being president and lying about being at ground zero the day after 9/11 is just a disgrace. And make no mistake about it: Lying is what Biden did.

From false claims surrounding his grandfather’s death and own birth to how and where his own son died to bogus claims about being arrested during a civil rights protest, Biden arguably makes Pinocchio look like a master of truth-telling. This is particularly odd since he stressed the importance of telling the truth during his presidential campaign. Yet he suffers zero accountability for his duplicity. It raises the question: Why does he keep getting away with this?

The president of the United States used one of the worst tragedies in the nation’s history to try to score cheap political points. It’s despicable and disrespectful to all who died. Biden should be held accountable for his lie, and the nation should demand an apology.

Furthermore, it should demonstrate Biden’s lack of principle and character to the entire country. Biden is a pathological liar, and he showed he would exploit anyone and anything so long as he could benefit from it — even the worst terrorist attack in the country’s history.
