Biden wants to use illegal immigrants to punish Texas

President Joe Biden is apparently so thoroughly lost on what to do to fix the border crisis that he is now considering using illegal immigrants to punish Texas for making him look bad.
The Biden administration is considering a plan to force illegal immigrants to remain in Texas and other border states with the use of ankle monitors and other GPS-tracking devices. Former President Donald Trump had the “remain in Mexico” policy that required asylum-seekers trying to cross from Mexico into the U.S. to stay in Mexico while their claims were considered.
BIDEN THROWS GAS ON INFLATION FIRE
For those of you not stuck in 1836, you may observe one key difference between Trump’s policy and the one Biden is reportedly considering: Texas is not Mexico. A policy forcing illegal immigrants to remain in Texas would not slow the tide at the border, where hundreds of thousands are crossing every month. Those illegal immigrants would still be crossing the border, where they would then be straining Texas’s resources as they have been for years.
That is exactly the point, though. This plan is only being considered in retribution for Texas sending illegal immigrants to Democrat-run sanctuary cities and states, including Chicago, New York City, Washington, D.C., and California. The Democrats running those areas have been complaining about receiving a fraction of the illegal immigrants that Texas is regularly expected to care for, with many blaming Biden specifically for the strain on their own cities.

That makes Biden look bad, so instead he plans to keep all those illegal immigrants in Texas to further strain the state’s resources and to get Democrats such as New York City Mayor Eric Adams off Biden’s back. So, not only will he continue to refuse to secure the border while his administration claims it is secure, but now he wants to use illegal immigrants as tools in a political fight against Texas.
Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has already made it clear the state will fight this, as it well should. Abbott’s decision to bus illegal immigrants to “sanctuary cities” exposed both Biden’s refusal to enforce immigration laws and the hypocrisy of Democrats on immigration. Forcing illegal immigrants to remain in Texas is nothing more than political retribution for that masterful, and entirely justifiable, play.
