When someone reports that President Joe Biden is considering a policy that would keep releasing illegal immigrants into the United States but then force them to stay in Texas, one is initially skeptical.

Not even Biden could be so hypocritical as to keep letting unlimited numbers of economic immigrants from around the world into the U.S., but then cordon his voters off from the consequences by forcing those same people to stay thousands of miles away in Texas, right?

But then, you watch the ladies on The View, and they come out and say that is, in fact, exactly what they want to happen.

Reacting to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’s admission that Biden’s immigration crisis “will destroy New York City,” The View’s Ana Navarro said on Friday: “You’ll remember when we had the Mariel boatlift. 125,000 Cubans came in a matter of 6 months. It puts tremendous stress on a city, on a community, on the social services. They need to be resettled elsewhere.”

That “elsewhere” appears to be Texas.

Like Biden is today, President Jimmy Carter initially welcomed the Cubans fleeing Fidel Castro’s regime in April 1980. But after over 80,000 entered Florida in May alone, Carter initiated a U.S. Coast Guard blockade around the state. The number of immigrants who reached land fell to just a few thousand. By October, Carter had negotiated an end to Castro’s boatlift entirely.

Unlike Carter, Biden is apparently completely uninterested in slowing the waves of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. to make bogus asylum claims that almost all of them will lose. Instead of using law enforcement assets to intercept the immigrants crossing the border and send them back, like Carter did, Biden is using Customs and Border Protection to catch and release as many people into the country as possible.

Up until now, Biden has been letting illegal immigrants go wherever they want in the United States. Apparently, for the wealthy women of The View, this is inconvenient for them. So now Biden wants to confine illegal immigrants to border states such as Texas. Let them deal with the problem.

The chaos of the Mariel boatlift was a part of the reason Carter lost to President Ronald Reagan in a landslide in 1980. And the effects of that migration were largely confined to Miami. Biden’s border crisis is affecting communities nationwide. No wonder he is so desperate to confine the problem to one state he will assuredly lose anyway.
