‘Bidenomics’ misinformation and the return of $5 gas

President Joe Biden likes to spread misinformation. One must look no further than his tall tales on gasoline prices.

He has blamed everything — and I mean everything — for the fact that gasoline prices have soared under his presidency, compared to the prices gas used to be when former President Donald Trump was in office. From the pandemic, to Putin, to the war in Ukraine, to MAGA Republicans, to climate change, to whatever latest excuse Biden has concocted, it’s always been the fault of someone or something else.

THE MIXED MESSAGES OF BIDENOMICS

The blame game is a far cry from the president who said in August 2021 that “the buck stops with me.” Time has revealed that Biden’s statement then was more misinformation. So, too, were all of his excuses for high gas prices.

Now, just as Biden and Democrats have been touting how great the economic policies of “Bidenomics” have been for Americans, some parts of the country have been gifted with the return of $5 gas. It’s yet another example of Biden’s misinformation campaign network.

The current average price for gas in California is $5.025. That’s an increase from a week ago in which gas was $4.92. It’s also an increase from when gas was $4.83 a month ago.

And while $5 gas isn’t everywhere in the country yet, nationally, the current average price has soared to $3.80. That’s up from a week ago when it was $3.68 and a month ago when it was approximately $3.54. Biden made it a habit to take credit when gas prices were decreasing. Yet, with the recent increase, the president has remained conspicuously quiet. It’s probably hard to show face when his previous statements of blaming Trump, Putin, and the war in Ukraine have been exposed as not being true.

The gas price hike is in addition to grocery prices still remaining high. The Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that grocery prices are 5.8% higher year-over-year. It still costs more to eat at restaurants than a year ago, with prices being 8.3% higher. Additionally, Americans are paying more for electricity under Biden than Trump. The U.S Energy Information Administration revealed that prices are expected to increase this year by another 2% — on top of 2022’s already high prices.

This is the Bidenomics that the people in the country are supposed to be grateful for? For any American who, for some reason, enjoys having less money and paying more for nearly everything essential, I suppose.

Biden and the Democrats can keep “Bidenomics.” Americans would rather have lower prices.
