Don’t you call your father into business meetings to chat about the weather?

For nearly four years now, Joe Biden repeatedly has insulated himself from his son‘s overseas business dealings with the categorical defense and direct quotation: “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”

Alas, Devon Archer, a former Democratic operative and recent business partner of the younger Biden, has now blown the lid off the first son’s modus operandi. Evidently, oligarchs from America’s angriest adversaries were not giving bags of cash to Hunter in exchange for the drug addict’s business acumen. The president not only spoke to Hunter about his professional escapades; Joe was evidently being called into meetings with Hunter’s clients.

THREE TAKEAWAYS FROM DEVON ARCHER’S TESTIMONY ON CAPITOL HILL

Dan Goldman, Levi’s heir-cum-Democratic legacy admission to Congress, wants us to believe we’re as dumb as he is.

“The witness was unequivocal and stated very clearly that they never discussed any business on [those] phone conversations,” the New Yorker said after the closed-door session with Archer. “There were niceties. And there was a hello. And [they] talked about the weather or whatever it was, but it was never any business.”

Not since Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch caught up on Chelsea Clinton’s wedding on a private jet have Democrats contorted common sense this badly to claim that a conversation consisted of mere pleasantries.

Archer reportedly told the House Oversight Committee that Hunter was only trying to sell the mere “illusion of access” to his corporate cronies, but wouldn’t the Biden moniker belonging to Hunter achieve that on its own? The sitting vice president of the United States accepting calls into Hunter’s business meetings around 20 times, the amount apparently estimated by Archer, is more than a mere illusion of access to the most powerful government in the world. It is, by definition, access to the man who was one heartbeat away from the presidency and, at that time, a probable front-runner for the 2016 presidential contest.

Goldman has continued the cretinous Democratic tradition of defiling the good legacy of Beau Biden to get his black sheep brother out of trouble.

“Let’s put this in context,” Goldman told MSNBC. “Beau Biden got very sick in 2015. He died in the spring of 2015, which was right in the middle when Devon Archer had his business dealings with Hunter Biden. At that point, Joe Biden and Hunter Biden began to speak every day because they were devastated by Beau’s death.”

Unlike Joe, who publicly enabled and endorsed Hunter’s adultery and refusal to care for Hunter’s daughter born out of wedlock, Beau reportedly loved his brother in the real sense, namely that he tried to hold Hunter accountable. Not only did Beau repeatedly work with Hunter’s first wife to get him sober. He also reportedly tried to put the kibosh on Hunter and Jim Biden’s 2006 attempt to cash in on their connection to the then-Delaware senator.

Nobody denies that both Joe and Hunter were consumed with anxiety and then grief over Beau’s painful and premature demise. But when you’re in a business meeting but need to talk to dad about an ostensibly personal matter, you quickly excuse yourself for some privacy — not put him, the vice president, on speakerphone.
